Bossio Announces $63,415 for Marmora Town Hall

Mikes Announces Funding for Marmora Town Hall

Great news today for Marmora and Lake! Extra #Canada150 funding became available, and so they received over $63,000 toward renovations for thier town hall. The Marmora Town Hall is an historic building for the community. These are the kind of landmarks in our small rural towns that are a key part of Rebuilding Main Street. We have to make sure we keep them alive and pass them down to the next generation. I’m proud to see our government making this community sustainability investment in Marmora. Additional funding has become available from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, and the Municipality of Marmora and Lake is benefitting.

Mike Bossio, Member of Parliament for Hastings—Lennox and Addington, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, announced that the Mamora and Lake will receive $ $63,415 in federal funding toward a project to renovate the Marmora Town Hall.

This project is one of over 350 Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) projects approved in southern Ontario under the program’s second intake.

With the addition of $44.4 million in supplementary funding announced in Budget 2016, the total CIP 150 allocation for southern Ontario, being delivered by FedDev Ontario, is up to $88.8 million. Over 730 projects have been approved under both intakes.

These projects will allow Canadians to enjoy upgraded community facilities such as parks, trails, cultural and community centres. They will also help to create a lasting legacy as Canada prepares to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
